Pricing for Commissions
Pricing will increase a small amount each year. Once a commission has been secured, the price will not increase.
Painting Details
Commissions are generally done in oil (acrylic is also an option) on 1.5" wrapped canvas and will be ready to hang upon completion. This includes black painted sides, signature on front, and hanging wire attached with D hooks.
Oil paintings take a long time to dry between layers and so be prepared to wait 3-6 months+ for your painting. Varnishing a painting is a personal choice that the client should make. Ideally oil paintings should cure for up to 12 months before varnish is applied. I prefer to use Gamvar Satin varnish, which is removeable. Varnish can be applied at no extra cost. You are welcome to leave your painting unvarnished, bring it back to me after 12 months for varnish, or varnish it yourself. You can read some of the pros and cons of varnishing here.
Custom wood floater frames are available upon request, for an additional cost.
